About
I am the niche.
Twenty years. Cybersecurity. Enterprise sales. Serial founding. Self-taught builder. I did not pick a lane because the work never fit in one. Security taught me how systems break. Sales taught me how people decide. Founding taught me how fast everything changes when real money and real customers are involved.
I kept starting things alongside the day job. I co-founded a company that used AI to fight spam and robocalls. I co-founded a DevSecOps startup and ran its growth. Some worked. Some did not. I learned the most from the ones that did not. Then I got obsessed with building with AI and went from selling other people's software to shipping my own. I taught myself the stack by breaking things until they worked.
That is the background. Here is the bet: most founders and operators get bounced between four agencies who each own a slice and none of them talk to each other. You end up managing the managers. I think one partner who can build the whole thing is worth more than a committee. That is what I do through Wired Builder.
It is not just me. I bring in trusted specialists when a project needs depth I do not carry alone. You still get a single point of contact. No handoff games. No "that is not our scope." I own the outcome with you.
The way I approach every engagement is laid out in the Wired Builder Method.
Right now I am also co-founder and CEO of Ventenova, an AI research platform for investors. I write about building at living-wired.com. The thinking is the content, not the topic.

What I write about
Common questions
- Who is Blake Mitchell of Wired Builder?
- I am a senior generalist in Vancouver with about twenty years across cybersecurity, sales, and starting companies. I run Wired Builder as a build studio: one person you deal with, and a network of specialists behind me when a job needs depth I do not carry alone. I also co-founded Ventenova, and I write about the work at living-wired.com.
- What does a build studio actually do that an agency does not?
- An agency sells you a department and hands you an account manager. I sell you the outcome and stay on it. The work spans sales, websites, SEO, automation, and security, so the pieces are built to fit each other instead of being handed between four companies who each blame the other one. You get one point of contact who owns the result.
- Is Wired Builder just one person?
- One point of contact, not one pair of hands. I do the building and the thinking, and I bring in specialists when a job needs them. For most growing businesses that is the whole team they need. If a project genuinely wants an agency of twenty, I will tell you that rather than take the work.
